RGP Cloud connection error "Unknown remote connection"

Investigating
Updated

Thank you for your patience. We have learned that the Windows 11 April 2026 update (KB5083769) for versions 25H2 and 24H2 introduces significant security changes to the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and that is the most likely culprit for this issue.

It appears that this pop-up will occur if this update is run on the local computer. RGP Cloud servers are scheduled to receive this update on 4/19/26, and that will resolve the issue going forward. We will update this status page as soon as we have additional information.

Thank you!

Investigating

Hello,

Earlier today we were made aware of a pop-up error message that states "Caution: Unknown remote connection" when attempting to connect to RGP Cloud seats. Our development and IT teams are investigating this issue now, and we expect to know more soon.

In the meantime, select the following options in the pop-up to proceed so you can operate without issue:

  • Drives – allows you to save and upload files between your computer and the system

  • Clipboard – allows you to copy and paste between your computer and the system

  • Ports – enables certain device connections that may be needed depending on your setup

  • Printers – required for receipt and report printing

Then click Connect. Please let us know if you run into any issues. We will update this notice as soon as we have more information.

Thank you!
